LENSES
THE FRAME IS HALF THE DECISION
What goes in the frame decides how well you actually see. We will walk you through the options that matter for your prescription and skip the ones that do not.
Progressives
One lens, distance through to reading, with no line across it. They depend on precise measurements - where your pupils sit and how high the lens rides in the frame - which is why we take them in person rather than estimating.
Anti-reflective coating
Cuts reflections off the lens surface. The difference is most obvious driving at night and on screens, and it makes your eyes visible to other people instead of two discs of glare.
Photochromic
Clear indoors, darkening in sunlight. A good option if you would rather not carry a second pait, with the caveat that most do not darken fully behind a windshield.
Polarized
Cuts glare bouncing off water, wet roads, and car hoods. If you are on the coast, this is the one that makes the biggest difference.
Computer and office lenses
Built for the distance your screen actually sits at so your eyes are not straining toward it all day. More on our Digital Eye Strain page.
High-index
Thinner and lighter for stronger prescriptions. It keeps a strong lens from looking thick at the edges and from weighing down the frame.
Children's lenses are made in polycarbonate as standard – it is resistant and blocks UV, which matters more at that age than anything else on this list.

Squinting through the glare off the water is not a style choice. Almost every frame we carry can be made with your prescription in a tinted or polarized lens, and most vision plans put an allowance toward a second pair.

Bring your prescription and give us twenty minutes. Our opticians will narrow 30 brands down to the handful that suit your face and your prescription, take the measurements the lenses depend on, and check what your insurance actually covers before you commit to anything.
Afterwards, adjustments and repairs are free for as long as you wear them. Glasses slide, screws loosen, kids sit on things - bring them in any time, no appointment.

Second frame free
Buy two complete pairs, frames and lenses, and the frame for the second pair is free. A good way to add prescription sunglasses or a backup. Some exclusions apply.
