Contact Lens Evaluations
What is the difference between a routine eye exam and a contact lens evaluation?
Contact lens evaluations are additional services provided by the doctor to find the ideal contact lens correction, comfort, and fit for you.
Why do I need to have a contact lens evaluation every year?
Contact lens prescriptions expire after one year. In order to purchase contacts for the next 12 months, a contact lens evaluation is required.
My prescription hasn’t changed, so why do I need a contact lens evaluation?
The interaction of a contact lens with the eye can change depending on your health, medication use, home environment, or work environment. The doctor must re-evaluate yearly because there is always a possibility the prescription may change or the health of the cornea may become compromised as a result of multiple life factors.

Retinal image screening
What exactly is the Optos California Retinal Imaging?
Getting an Optomap image using the Optos is fast and painless! There are no side effects and no extra time is required. Using advanced scanning laser technology, the Optos captures an ultra-wide view of your retina in one panoramic image while traditional methods only show a small portion of your retina at a time. It provides a permanent digital picture of your eyes for continuous monitoring of health. Our doctors can magnify and highlight suspicious areas, allowing for early detection and protection from visual impairment and life-threatening diseases such as cancer, stroke, and cardiovascular disease.
Why do I need Retinal Imaging?
Our doctors can diagnose retinal detachments, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, optic nerve edema, and many more with retinal imaging. Assessment of the peripheral retina using retinal imaging or dilation is an essential part of your eye exam as it helps our doctors detect and treat many eye conditions and diseases.
